When choosing a location for your engagement session, I always encourage my clients to choose an area that is about them as a couple if possible. Something that reflects their personalities, and the way that they love. This could be the place they met, their favorite place to hang out, where he proposed. Nathan and Rachael were no different, their location fit their personalities perfectly.
In the time leading up to the session Rachael had emailed and asked if they could bring their dog, Penny Lane. (LOVE that name!!) Having furry family members myself I, of course, said yes! I truly believe Penny loved every minute of her photo shoot, she did so well, and was even posing by the end!!
I believe most couples feel sort of awkward in front of the camera at first, and sort of don't know what to expect. Alot of times this is the first time actually working with their photographer being photographed. That's why I love engagement sessions, it really gives both my couples a chance to get to know how I work, and it gives me the opportunity to see what works well with them, in a much more relaxed environment than on the actual wedding day. Plus it's just a really great opportunity to get to know them as a couple.
When I called to confirm their session, Nathan had told me he had a little surprise in store for Rachael. I couldn't have been more excited to have been a part of this day, and I didn't even cry!! Well, almost!!
As a couple, they are pretty incredible, so much fun, and absolutely perfect for each other. And even though they kept telling me they "can't take pictures" they were amazing, even Penny Lane!!
Rachael you look amazing!!
Nathan and Rachael I am so honored you have chosen me to document your love and I am so looking forward to your September 2013 wedding!!
