Thanksgiving is probably one of my more favorite holidays. Usually we are headed back to visit my family out of state, but this year for a myriad of reasons we are not able to. (Not that I'm going to miss the 9 hour drive in heavy holiday traffic, with people who don't know how to drive!!!) But it makes me sad too, not being able to see my big crazy family, all at once. I'm definitely going to miss having my Black Friday shopper partner in crime with me. Yes, dear internet, my daughter and I are those crazy people out shopping at an absurd time of night. But we have soo much fun. I think the people watching alone, is worth it. So even though we can't be together for this holiday we are still going to go shopping together in different states, in different time zones, with our phones, and even though she won't be beside me, she will still be there with me. Technology is a beautiful thing.
There are so many things we should be thankful for in our lives, that we don't always take the time to appreciate, or we just take for granted. I know in just this past year there are so many things that I have to be thankful for, and here are just a few.
I am thankful for my family, they drive me nuts, but I love them still the same, and wouldn't trade them for the world. I am thankful for all of our health, and even though my mother's partner was diagnosed with cancer, I am thankful he is here with us now, and for his doctors.
I am thankful for my granddaughter, she is the funniest little person ever, and until you are a grandmother the love you feel for a grandchild you will never be able to describe. She has single handedly taught my family to appreciate what they have, and not to sweat the small stuff. Anyone who has a child who was born with a disability, will appreciate what I am saying. Besides she is the most beautiful thing in the world, she takes after her gramama.
I am thankful for my children, they each are the most amazingly talented, beautiful, inspiring people, I have ever met. It is truly a gift to be their mother. I'm also thankful for my husband, just for putting up with me.
I could truly write the longest run-on sentence ever with the things I am thankful for, but these are just a few. I want to thank all of you, because not only are you actually reading this, but you have helped my business grow this past year in ways I didn't think were possible. So today, eat turkey, watch football, nap, enjoy your families company, whether it is the one you were born into, or the one that you made, repeat, and go shopping!!
