So this morning I was out walking my dog with my headphones on wondering what the bleep am I going to blog about?  I mean I have

what like a million ideas swirling around in my head, and I couldn't settle on one. 

Now, I am one of those people who does not really like the quiet.  I need to have some sort of noise in the background, music, a tv,

the trees rustling, something.  I'm sure there has to be some sort of phobia related to this.

izzy holding finger Then, like a stroke of genius, "Call Me Maybe" came on, and not only did I find myself singing along, because really that song is sooo 

catchy you can't help but sing along, but I had an idea.    Not only was I singing along to the song, to the horror of all of my

neighbors I'm sure, but it also made me think about all of the parodies that have been done for this song, especially the football ones.

It amazes me how a sound, a smell, a taste, a touch, a sight can evoke images in our memory transporting us back to that time and

You can blindfold a mom in one room, and put 10 kids in the other room all yelling mom, and you bet that mom will be able to pick

out her own "mom" and that mom will know what kind of attention her child needs based on the sound of their voice.  Or vice versa,

that mom is sitting in a crowded noisy room, she will "hear" nothing coming from the other room and know without a doubt trouble

is brewing.

beach I don't even think I need to say anything about this image.  You can practically smell the salt in the air, and feel the warm sun on

your skin.  And whether or not you went to the beach this year, I bet your thinking about a time you did right now.  (Or wishing

you were there, am I right??)

What does this have to do with "Call Me Maybe", nothing, but now you see how my brain works, weird, I know.

I guess my point is, this is the power that portraits have.  When you have your portraits taken, whether it's

your wedding, your engagement, your family portrait, your child's portrait, or your senior portraits, that portrait captures you at that

time, and will forever have the power to transport you back to that moment, that memory, that time. 

That's what I do, I capture those moments for you, for myself, and that is what makes me happy.
