When you are a kid the days seem to move by so slowly. By the time you get to high school, you feel like you have been in school forever, and it's never going to end, but you can kinda see the light at the end of the tunnel because you only have 4 more years. One day you are walking into to high school as a freshman, and the next thing you know you are starting your senior year. With that comes, college selection, jobs, homecoming, prom, senior portraits, yearbook signings, cap and gown fittings, and finally graduation, and you stop and wonder, "WOW!! Those last 4 years went by pretty quick!!"
Fast forward a bit and now you have your own children, one day you are looking at them, and your friends kids, and they are all just babies, and the next thing you know they are graduating high school, and you stop for a moment, and wonder "Where in the H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS did the last 10 years go?!?!?!?!?"
That is where I am finding myself now. Nikki's mom and I have been friends for many years, so when she asked if I would photograph her senior portraits (because holy cow she's a senior!!!!) my answer was "YES!!"
The day of Nikki's senior portraits was perfectly overcast, and the lighting could not have been better. We had so much fun walking around the park, finding great locations and getting some amazing shots. Nikki was absolutely stunning, and as I looked at the back of the camera to show her mom, I will admit I got a little teary eyed. (I also cry at every Disney movie to which my kids, and Nikki can attest to) I saw not only the stunning young woman she is becoming, but the little girl that she was, and I couldn't be more proud of her.
Nikki, I wish you nothing but success and happiness in everything you do no matter where life takes you. And remember, no matter what you will always be our favorite little "Kernek"
